The Hendy family at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, site of our new magical Christmas Trail

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is a family-run business, situated near Langford Budville in Somerset. The 40 acre farm is owned and run by Reg and Ann Hendy and their two sons and daughters-in-law, Shaun, Trudy, Nick and Clare, who have been growing and selling Christmas trees here for more than 20 years.

Langford Lakes will be selling their home-grown, freshly cut Christmas trees at the event, alongside local food vendors serving delicious refreshments for you to enjoy as you explore the trail.

catherine vicarage

Catherine Vicarage

Cathy has been a professional actor and professional elf for 8 years. She has spent 5 Christmas seasons in Finland, 2 of which she was the Head of Department of Elves, and during the Covid pandemic, she brought Eeko to life at Lapland UK. Her character Twig was a creation of all the things woodland and whimsy, a pixie of the forest. We know many people visiting Enchantment are celebrating other holidays and that’s why Twig (and her friends!) are not your traditional Santa’s elves.

After writing last years Enchantment story of “The Dream Forest”, Cathy returns with Twig the Elf and Roger the Rock for a brand new story!

owen meredith

Owen Meredith, Sculptor

Owen Meredith is based in Taunton, where he creates nature-inspired sculptures from wood and metal. His work is available to buy for collection after the event:

“From the tiny detail of a dragonfly wing to the spectacle of a starling murmuration, the Somerset landscape never ceases to provide inspiration for sculpture.  My background is trees and timber and for many years, chainsaw carving satisfied my creative itch.  The smell of two stroke and the raw power of a chainsaw never leaves you, but it always felt like something was missing.

“That missing element was metal!  I love the contrast and conflict of these two very different materials and together they offer endless possibilities of shape and form.”

hayley jones

Hayley Jones wire sculptures

Hayley Jones is an artist from Clevedon, North Somerset. She transitioned from painting to 3D wire sculptures in 2014, using single-strand coiled wire, in both metallic and coloured finishes.

Working from her garden studio, she creates unique pieces, often mounted on reclaimed materials like old gates, sleepers, and garden tools. Her sculptures range from small birds and animals for your home or garden, to large-scale commissions.

Hayley has exhibited her work at art events and sculpture trails across the UK. Look out for Hayley’s sculptures along the trail, all of which are available to purchase for collection after the event.

Renée Kilburn

Renée Kilburn ceramic artist

Renée Kilburn is a Swedish-born ceramicist, based in Weston-Super-Mare.

Her journey began in the early 1990s when she took her first pottery lesson. In 1997, she gained a BA (Hons) degree in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins College in London where she also had the opportunity to meet and work for the world-renowned Ceramic Artist Kate Malone, and her perspective on ceramics changed forever.

Look out for Renée’s beautiful ceramic flowers adorning our enchanted forest, all available to purchase following the event.

Tim & Tom Harral

Tim Harral bird sculptures

Tim Harral is a sculptor in mild steel, which he describes as a wonderful material: “Cold it is hard and firm and unforgiving but when heated it becomes a totally different medium. It can be welded and ground, so I can add, subtract and shape it as required.”

Tim has 3 bird sculptures for sale after the event: Diving Birds (pictured), Osprey and Red Kite, all £2000.

Tom Harral is Tim’s son. A metalsmith for 20 years, now specialising in garden ornaments. Tom has created the light pillars along the trail, these are priced from £200 – £300 and are made to order.

Captain Chainsaw

Captain Chainsaw

Captain Chainsaw is one of the original Tree Pirates. He has created some hand carved wooden benches for us along the trail.

He is best known for his huge chainsaw sculptures exhibited at the Glastonbury Festival. Where he built an enormous Tree Ent (from Lord of the rings) kneeling on a car and famously, a huge scorpion suspended from a wooden frame of tree trunks.

In the last 25 years Captain Chainsaw has made over 1000 chainsaw sculptures, chairs and other bits of funky furniture from waste wood.
